So, are you saying that NO ONE and NO THING is to blame for Hunter not getting conservative support? Was it just fate?
I blame conservatives. You say “don’t blame conservatives”. I just want to know who you blame, if you don’t blame conservatives. It was just a question, one that you don’t seem to want to answer. It seems odd that you want to hide your opinion on this matter. You apparently have SOME opinion as to why Hunter was not nominated — why won’t you share it?
Meanwhile, you also wrongly claimed that Hunter was the “only conservative” who dropped out in 2008 (He dropped out January 20, 2008 and endorsed Mike Huckabee). When I pointed out that Fred Thompson actually lasted longer in the race and was considered conservative, you tried to make some excuse rather than acknowledging your error (Thompson dropped out January 23, 2008). He waited until after super tuesday before endorsing John McCain (by that time the race was essentially over).
I’m pretty sure you are still a conservative, but if you don’t want to acknowledge that, I won’t force you. But we, the conservatives who think things happen for a reason, and that we are not fated to lose for no reason whatsoever, will have to work harder to make sure we nominate a conservative this cycle.
You can keep your head in the sand and pretend that you have nothing you need to do, that conservatives were perfect in 2008, and that nobody could have made anything turn out differently. That sure seems like a defeatist attitude to me, but I doubt your participation or lack thereof will make a whole lot of difference.
