EXACTLY! It is not a ‘talent’ show it is a popularity contest. The rules allow the public to vote for their ‘favorite’. So it turns out that Bristol has more fans than Brandy. Oh, well.
If listened to the announcer when they put Brandy and Bristol up together at the end that these were NO necessarily the bottom two vote-getters. It is likely that Bristol may have received more votes than Kyle or Jennifer as well. It is entirely possible that she got more votes than anyone. They pitted these two against each other for ratings and effect.
I hope Bristol wins the contest. She’s worked hard, improved and done it without whining. More than I can say for either Brandy or Jennifer.

...and because she is young and beautiful, is a fast learner, has gorgeous legs, and has a winsome vulnerability that appeals to folks of all ages.

I would say Bristol is catching up pretty fast.

It’s part of the conspiracy. People post the phone number here when it’s time, and we are all freeping the poll, just like any other poll.
Lots of conservatives who don’t even watch the show are voting for Palin. It’s how it’s done. You can bet that if she had been voted our early, the left would have made political hay of it.
I don’t know if there are enough conservatives doing this to overcome the votes of people who are judging the dancers on merit. It’s easier to defend a contestant when there are multiple contestants being voted on, but as the serious votes move to fewer remaining serious candidates, it gets harder.
On the other hand, from what i’ve heard Jennifer is the only really good dancer of the three left, while the other two are both popularity votes. So the question is, do the conservatives have a bigger vote than the disney folks?
My problem is that my parents ballroom danced. Not professionally but they did teach for awhile. They finally quit as they preferred dancing with one another. They did the rumba and all of them. So....I look at the dancing. I don’t have TV so I watch it on Hulu. That said, I wouldn’t vote for Bristol on her dancing. I love the kid. I think she’s gutsy and adorable. But I learned the first season that dancing doesn’t count. The woman that won the first season was dropped by her partner and sill won. The show isn’t about dancing.
Yes, she did come from dancing experience nothing. And she has gotten really good. At this point, if she was embarassing like Michael Bolton even she would not still be around. Ratings, so be it.

And the fact that it ticks off the liberal lunatics is enough reason for me to vote for Bristol! And the fact that they treat her mother like garbage is another reason. I'm sure I can come up with hundreds but those two are the top of my list!

I am not a fan of DWTS. But I voted last night for the first time and I will vote next week.
DID YOU KNOW that you can vote as many as 5 times from each of your phone numbers and it doesn’t cost a dime. In my house that meant 5 votes for each cell phone and 5 votes from the hardline.... that’s 15 votes! LOL
As for the Black girl, she looks like a pole dancer to me... right down to the “bitch patch” tat, located right above her butt.
