Student Body President Jacob Robinson, who vetoed the bill, says that it’s up to the state legislature – not the school – to address the problem of illegal immigration.

Student Body President Robinson sounds like Student Body President Obama, injecting his agenda into every decision.

But the issue isn't immigration. It's tuition. So Robinson's attempt to change the subject fails.

“We don’t choose to be illegal."

They are college students and presumably intelligent enough to be aware of their nationality, immigration status, etc.

If one is a Mexican national and elects to remain within the borders of the US, that is in fact a choice.

Unless they are implying that the stork made a second visit, plucked them from their family homes and dropped them in College Station, TX.
