The Washington Redskins and quarterback Donovan McNabb have agreed to five-year contract extension, reports NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora, citing a league source.
The deal, which locks in McNabb until 2015, includes $40 million guaranteed and could be worth up to a maximum of $88 million, including $10 million in incentives. The deal averages $15.5 million per season, according to the source.

I hope âit happensâ won’t be the post mortem recap for the Giants Eagles, and Giant Redskins games.
I am so loving this.
It will be. ...after the Giants stomp those far-inferior teams. “It happens” ...quite often, in fact.
Did you hear about Dez Bryant's expensive loss yesterday?
Could make him think twice about wearing diamond earrings during games. ...but I doubt it.
If they leave him in that long. He’s already down 21-0, and has thrown at least one interception that I remember.
I wish we had hired Vick instead of buying McNabb. Vick may be a problem case, but at least he has potential.
Rush was right.
I’d bet anything he still gets traded to Minnesota next year. He’s pulling the Favre plan: play one year with a schlub team then go where you really wanted to play.
All I can say to you Redskins fans, SUX2BU.
The one who looks really hot is Vick.
No team is undefeated so you have a point. I guess I just don’t like loosing to the Cowboys at home.
moves like this have scarred the Snyder era in Washington. McNabb will prove to be one of the biggest busts in the history of the NFL.
He was great in Philly because of the plug-and-play offense system and the amazing defense they managed to put together over the years. If he does not have a versatile RB at his side, a good blocking TE and two WRs able to make highlight circus catches he’ll become incredibly average very fast.
For a man that made millions in business, Snyder just seems to think that the Redskins are a marketing tool to sell gear and not a team that should have a goal to win most of their games.
The fans should strike but I can’t see that happening.
I have to thank Snyder...he wiped out any cursory interest I had in football from my younger days. My Sundays are now devoted to other pursuits...
I can’t wait for baseball season. I discovered the Nationals this year and I think they are going about building the team the right way; with young talent and some established players. I look for them to do much better this coming year.
