Former F1 driver Jean Alesi says it is "not true" that Red Bull will not use team orders to win the title if they need them. "They are trapped because of the way they have discussed it," he said. "They have tried to say they are clean and they don't do it, but that is misinformation. It is not true. They will definitely use it."

Former FIA president Max Mosley says there is "no doubt that this championship will be devalued if Alonso wins and the points obtained by breaking the rules on team orders define the final result". (The Times)

If Fernando Alonso prevails on Sunday by seven points or fewer, the knives will come out for the Spaniard and his team. It would be a shame indeed were that to be the case. Alonso has driven brilliantly since mid-season.
