To steal someone else's comment:
Sometimes, the bottom of a lower-case "e" is just a lower-case "e".
Chill out, folks.

It’s the tail end of the lower case “e”.

The G has always looked to me a little bit communist, like a hammer and sickle.

I think that's the "e" in Google.
Of course, that doesn't mean that they aren't a bunch of Commies. :)

That crescent looks to be the tail of the “e” at the end of Google.
Having said that, ‘tis a bit strange.

If it makes you feel better, think of it as the American Flag blotting out Islam.
To: bgill
If it IS a secret signal to communists, take note that Old Glory is way ON TOP of the crescent, and the sun is shining in approval.
As I mentioned on another thread, at least they showed the flag on Veteran’s day and did not commemorate some obscure event or birthday.

The "crescent" is part of the "e" from "GooglE". It's not an optical illusion; it is quite apparent. It's as if the flag and the "crescent" part of the "e" make up the letter "e".
If you want to see any hidden meaning in it, I suppose you could say it shows the flag flying triumphantly over the red crescent

Thanks for the link. See, I’m not the only one who “saw” this.
Yes, folks, it is the tail of the “e” but this is also google and they know what they’re doing. I don’t buy that it’s only a coincidence that the red “e” tail looks so much like a commie symbol creeping out from under the US flag.

Yes, and while it’s fine for others to disagree, there is a tone from some of, “you are crazy, stop talking about this, blah blah blah”. I don’t like that at all.

I see it as being blocked, obscured and subordinate to the Stars & Stripes.

Maybe the bottom of the “e” should have been replaced with hanging tassels blowing in the wind to avoid all the theories.

I choose to be not offended by it. I choose to focus on Old Glory, flying freely because of so very few brave men and women.

WND 2006 - “In response to e-mail generated by a WND story noting Google didn’t mark Veterans Day for an eighth straight year, the search engine giant created a form letter explaining the non-commemoration of the holiday was deliberate and out of reverence.”

Deliberate I believe. Reverence? Whatever.

ogawd, please just go get some fresh air.
If you have to read something into it, read that the beautiful American Flag scene is smothering the cold, sterile, dead crescent, OK?!
