Being from the Rockaways I had the pleasure of watching (and listening to) thousands and thousands of planes taking off from and landing at JFK. None of the contrails I witnessed over the years looked like the one in LA.
what about that plane that crashed over jamaica bay in NY not long after 9/11? Didn’t they say it was jet wash that tore the tail off of it or something like that? crazy stuff.

They lost the vertical stab because of “excessive rudder inputs.” The same thing happened in France. If I remember, Airbus put the new limitations/ procedures into the documentation but it was never incorporated into the pilot training. Sounds like a dangerous design flaw to me.
