Another eye witness report is recorded in the LA Times. The girl’s name is Kelly Spear. She lives in San Pedro and she took pictures. That is reported here:
http://articles.latimes.com/2010/nov/10/local/la-me-1110-mystery-missile-20101110/2
So now we have a satellite view of it which describes it as looking like it was headed straight for Catalina and this Kelly Spear who assumed it was coming from Vandenburg AFB. Surely someone with math skills can take these accounts and approximate a direction and beginning point? I know there are other eye witness accounts. Several logged in to post comments on the KCBS web site. I don’t know why so many insist on saying no one but the Copter pilot saw it.
I haven’t been able to find a reference to the video being seized by the DOD as someone had said earlier and I mistook for factual, however, the reporter, Gil Leyvas, has a facebook account. I do not use facebook, so perhaps he has said something there?
Anyway, I believe there is more info. available if one is willing to dig for it.
Thanks for the link. This will probably end up being one of those TWA 800 affairs. As another poster said, people will choose to believe what they want. Part of the motivations I think are psychological. No one really can deal with this being an in your face launch from China or a terrorist warning from Iran or North Korea. Especially since we have a President who could care less about America or Americans. If it was a missile the only good news would be if it was a classified test of some new defense systems. Would have been better to do the test during a heavy marine layer. Only planes and helicopters would see it then. And those pilots do not want to lose their licenses.
