The author, a physician, recommends “vigorous treatment with antibiotics” if OCD patients are found to have antibodies in their systems (via spinal tap, ouch).

The strep is most likely long gone from the system then - the antibodies lingering, and antibiotics wouldn’t help.

My son has OCD, and Asperger’s, so this is interesting.

I’m a little skeptical of this one. Strep is such a common infection - hasn’t most everyone been exposed? I would think that this theory is along the same lines as, “Everyone who’s ever had a heart attack has drank water. Most within 24 hours of their heart attack...”
