I’ll go with Warren Zevon as a great, but his singing wasn’t what made him that so much as his songwriting and his overall style. Still have a soft spot for that old radical, “Roland, The Headless Thompson Gunner” is one of the more peculiar and memorable songs of his. Very knowledgable of fairly obscure foreign intrigues.
I always loved “Hit Somebody,” “Leave My Monkey Alone” and “Lawyers Guns And Money.”
