A coon that is out in the daytime is highly likely to be rabid. Best to have everyone checked out...

Do you think that might be a skunk, not a coon?

Yes, I was thinking skunk maybe, but you’re right, it’s a possum.

Hi Judith....I have not idea what it is, maybe a mutant, but I never thought of a possible skunk...PU out here in the country sometimes the odor whiffles by from some road kill or one that ran into a coon and the coon lost..:O)

When I open the door to let my dog in, I am always grateful she wasn't the main target..:O)

Definitely a possum. Saw it run across the yard when I let the dogs out, got a few shots of it up the tree. They look like big nasty rats (except those sharp teeth!). But, I only have the one coon photo. So, I have to bug you with this one. :) Otherwise, I will have to haunt you with spiders and things.

I doubt I will get close enough to a skunk to get a photo. :)

NO NOT SPIDERS please please no spiders...Your right those possum look like big rats, but I think they are carrian eaters not predators...I think they also like eggs..they sure do have teeth like a predator tho..

Your pictures are good. Must have a nice camera..GG

Yes, several years ago I finally talked my hubby into a nice Nikon digital (I had a Kodak Easyshare and I just could not get good close ups). He recently got one too, so now we are both photo nuts. I love to take shots of critters, mostly. We live in the land of amazing birds, so I don't get a lot of mammals. But I do admit, I love to photograph spiders. I don't want them crawling on me, but they are fascinating to watch. Here is one you might like that. :) Someone Get Yer Goat?

I think a large spider web right after a soft rain would make an interesting picture....Have seen some beautiful webs...nature is sure grand...>P?

I was playing with google one day and found some country in Africa (or the middle east dont remember which) that has tree climbing goats...saw a tree with about 7 goats in it...they can get out on the branches for the fruit....I just raised ground dwelling Angora's...

Yes, webs are hard to get good shots of but here:

Stripes

And sometimes in the Austin area we see goats in trees. It's the darndest thing. The goat photo I posted belongs to one of my friends, btw.

I am not saying this to pat myself on the back. But it has been my experience that people that have goats are the friendliest and nicest people as a whole.

Some on FR would say I am the exception to the rule. Too old to care but don't try to deliberately offend. (well maybe once or twice when attacked.)

Pretty good for a spider web. The are hard to picture because of their transparentcy I guess..Pretty web, yucky spider in it...:O)

At another house I had, was just dumbfounded as I saw a large spider web while the babies were hatching...hundreds of them...

Interesting that tree climbing goats are in the states, but then again, its Texas...First with most things...

Angora goats were originally introduced to the US via Texas also...They have millions in some areas of the state and the last I heard about 90% of all angora's...

I think my friend’s goats are milk goats. She makes soap with the milk (or used to, not sure if she’s doing that anymore). I love to visit her farmette, you never know what’s going to be going on there! :)

Thats for sure, you never know what will happen...Having dairy goats is as bad as dairy cows...they have to get milked even if your sick as dog and a temp over 101...Hardest farming is dairy farming....goats or cows..

Yes, that’s why I’m not sure she’s doing the milk goats anymore. She runs a boarding kennel, so she’s plenty busy. She only had a few goats (maybe 4?) Had chickens, horses, turkeys, geese, some sort of sheep. She has a lot more energy than I do! :)
