You would think with a play-off system...that the top twenty universities in the US would be begging for such a system...to take home more money. The problem is that the individual bowl of each region attracts political power to get into the process. It’s not a truly independent process.

The problem is that these are unpaid KIDS who are also supposed to be going to school.

If you had a 16 team tournament that would mean 4 extra games for at least two of those teams.

If you took the top 4 teams and played 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3 on New Years day then play a championship game 2 weeks later it might be reasonable. But more then that no way.

Instead of whining to the DOJ maybe Utah and Boise State should play a tougher schedule if they want more respect. Win a game against Florida, Alabama, Ohio State, etc. and then they would have credibility.
