Interesting, as ITP is not a fatal disease, UNLESS she had a head injury they didn't find.

My son was diagnosed with ITP 33 yrs. ago. His platelet count runs around 85,000 at this point (normal is 150,000-450,000). When he was a child, his count went as low as 7,500 and no hemorrhaging took place. Just had to be very careful he received no head injury.

I'd say there were other complications.
