The state gains in 1994 were big...but they were much, much bigger this time. And we are in front of redistricting!

1994 was an excellent tactical victory that was later squandered. This - so far - appears to be a decisive strategic win.

The GOP has a habit of shooting itself in the foot, though. I'm not overconfident. However, I liked John Boehner's speech last night - not "We Won, Get over it!" but "We Won, now we've got some work to do". Set the right tone IMHO.

Right on.

And...how about Rubio’s? To the GOP he said, “you have a second chance, not just an embrace” or something to that effect. He definitely didn’t let the GOP off the hook!

All in all...not a bad night.

One other point: where we had decent, disciplined, professional Tea Party backed candidates, they did well. Where we had sort of undisciplined and unprofessional sort of wild Tea Party backed candidates, they failed. We need more Rubios and Pauls. And...fewer Angles and O’Donnells.

NOW...that said...I am STILL glad that Angle and O’Donnell won their primaries. I think it is important to fire back at the Mike Castles of the world. It’s just that when we have such an opportunity, it’d be better to do so with the Rubios of the world, rather than the O’Donnells. (She played a role in our overall effort, for sure, and for that we should be grateful).
