I guess I should have mentioned that there was nobody in line when I went in (at least for my district). I have no idea what # I was though.. :)
Headed to the polls now, less than half a mile from my house. Will report back when I get home.
My husband and I voted at 9 am. We were greeted at the door by a delightful 92 year-old man who expressed his joy at living to see the day that a black man would be elected president. It was a bitter-sweet moment, as I know he is very sincere, and it hurt me to know the very man he praised would pull the plug on him if it suited a political need. Only one democrat received a vote from me—a local lady I know in a local race.
A bit off subject, but I guess we had a pretty good shootout in Austin this morning—2 dead and one or two others injured.......
Yes, I heard that too. Seems the gunmam took out one, wounded a female and was taken out by APD.
I’m back home now and celebrating with a chocolate pudding snack. It was my first time voting at this location and they had a very nice set-up. It was in a large community center. They had tables set up so that around a hundred people could vote at once. We use paper ballots that are run into a scanner machine, my ballot on that particular scanner was number 273. There looked to be around 40 people voting with another 30 in line to show ID and get ballots and the parking lot was filling up fast. Yes, we have to show a photo ID and no one complains about it because it has been that way for as long as I can remember. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
I was listening to the reports too after I voted in Cedar Park this morning. I am so thankful I live among sane and patriotic people. As I was coloring in the straight party oval, I could hear the next guy behind me say out loud, “I’m voting straight GOP”.
One of the poll guys told me to grab a “I Voted” sticker, but I refuse to wear it here in Austin. I would rather not remind the people in Austin/Travis County to vote.
I am hoping for the best!
Most people in our precinct will be straight (R) voters too. We have our “token libs”, but not enough to carry much clout. I just wish we could rid ourselves of frizzy Donna Howard. We got her by default from the NW Austin libs.
I had a hard time doing it, but I voted for Palidino.. What’s the difference? He is a nutjob but I prefer that to a Cuomo..
Well, I had to hold my nose and vote for Gov Goodhair. There is no way I want Elmer Fudd as governor. When he speaks, I almost go to sleep.
Just drove passed the polling place in my small town and it is PACKED. I don’t think there is even a place to park! WOW, never saw that before! The pitchforks are out!
My husband and I did the same thing. I filled every little circle carefully. We had researched all the judges and had our little list to go by. This time it was almost emotional. We are in Lyndon, a suburb of Louisville.
Talked to the wife earlier and our conservative area polling place was packed as well.
If you want to see something really encouraging, go take a look at the DU forums.. LOL, talk about panic!
Sorry, but my HAZMAT suit got ruined on my last trip there and I didn’t buy a new one yet. I’ll wait for the DUmmie FUnnies after the elections.
So far the good list!
Thats better than the suggestion that I shill for a credit card company!
Turnout was pretty good. I waited until noon and was number 427 high for my precinct.
There was a steady stream of voters when I went to the poll. A judge told me they were told yesterday it wouldn’t be too busy but they had been working all morning. Everyone I talk to says the same thing; more voters than usual. WooHoo!
