"I thought it was a horse and carriage," said Wypyszinski. "That was the kind of noise that I heard."
By the time he turned around, the two fuzzy brown images were racing quickly toward him.
Wypyszinski pulled out his camera quickly, thinking he was going to catch two moose racing down the highway.
He quickly learned he was mistaken.
"I thought I was having a hallucination or something," said Wypyszinski. "I couldn't believe what that buffalo looked like."

Yeah, might be grizzly wounds, but if you read the article at the link, they say at least twice that the bison was burned, or “half cooked.”
We need one of the tech savvy here to post side-by-side shots of the two rallies. Note: same on this very thread say this was a huge rally, others say it was lame. We NEED the pics, techies!!!! :) I personally don’t remember the Beck pics too well, but I think they were HUGE compared to these that I’m seeing.
Delete post 22. It was put on the wrong thread. Thanks.
Mrs BN & I visited Yellowstone last month. We saw several sets of bison tracks leading across hot springs areas labeled DO NOT WALK and DANGEROUS GROUND.
Hornady .308 2800fps x 10 rounds and the end of my buttstock.
Himmler also called Goering “that damn bloodhound”. A bunch of the game laws Goering enacted by decree are still on the books.
From where did you get that quote?
Ahhhhhhhhhh
One of my biographies of Himmler or Goering. Forget which one.
If you saw the pictures of how badly burned the bison was, they did him a favor by putting him out of his misery...Burns are the worse injury and most painful that one can have...that bison was burned over a lot of his body...
For the most part, you are right. But there still are some hot pots and other geothermal areas that kind of creep up on you in the park, especially on rivers like the Firehole and the Gibbon. Also, a number of animals huddle around these warm areas as the temperatures drop. Once in awhile we've come across a full carcass in a pool. Whether they stumbled in or were scared by another animal, who knows. But like you thought...it doesn't happen very often.
Thanks. Sorry. Poor bison. Sad.
LOL you saw my post on another article about this....good catch...:O)
