Yeah, I heard that too. However, Rooney was also a slave and treated as such. (child abuse) I believe the studios kept him hopped up so he would crank out the films and make the studios rich. Yeah, eventually, he became addicted, like anyone would be after abuse like that. Just my thoughts.
