Good summary. Unfortunately, “The Battle of the Bulge” was one of the very worst WW II movies ever made.
It was horrible. Thank God for 'Band of Brothers' that finally gave us a decent telling about the BOTB.
What memories this brings—especially of my mother who died a couple of years ago. She went off to a Bible Institute without having a high school diploma, and the school said she could do both by going to college by day and high school at night school classes. She had to walk by the Hayes house on the way to her classes, and sometimes saw James—elementary school age then. A couple of times she even saw Helen Hayes.
Later, every time she saw him on TV, she would mention how he had grown up to be such a nice man.
So I wasn’t the only one upset by Chin Ho’s death.
RIP.
Wally Cox was the sonar man who went deaf after working too long.
BTW..Wally Cox was on the very first episode of Misson Impossible. He played a safe cracker.
Hmm I am almost certain Wally Cox was exhausted and the captain had him shot up with amphetmines to stay awake, and so he was all out of it and fires the missile when he hears Richard Widmark say the words “fire one” but that’s pure memory now you will all make me check if it was James McCarthur.
Saw the new series and died after seeing the idiot playing him now...LOL
