I'm done with Chrysler and GM for now. Worst car I've ever owned was a Datsun/Nissan, best value was a Ford Escort, cheapest was a Geo Metro, smoothest ride was a Dodge Magnum.
I've paid off all my vehicles and don't intend to ever buy new again. But I can still drool over pics of a Corvette, Mustang, or the new Caddy CTS-V Coupe.
I currently have 3 Fords, with a combined 40 years and over 500,000 miles of service from them, and you claim to have had far, far more trouble out of one than I've had out of my 3 combined?
You sure it isn't your guilt over supporting the japanese economy instead of ours that makes you exaggerate a bit?
In all my years, I only know one person that bought a new car and had that car turn out to be a lemon - the car in question? 1996 honda civic.
Taking a clue from you, I guess I can conclude that my neighbor's experience with that POS civic means that honda makes the world's worst cars.
Hungry? Out of work? Eat your toy yoda!
My previous Infiniti I had for six years, this one I’ve had for 2½.
reliability, reliability, reliability and plenty of ooomph when you press on the gas...
That sign reminds me of BRITISH LEYLAND concept. The kiss of death to the British car industry.
If you are not familiar:

I do not exaggerate the fact that my old Aerostar was an absolute total piece of garbage....once again, the transmission was completely replaced not once but twice, and the electrical circuitry took a dump, and I lost a full 10 grand when I rid myself of the garbage.
So sorry you have to resort to being a smartass when someone's opinion of a turd doesn't match yours.
The 503(?) non-profits status is also being abused to put forth paid propaganda.
For good reason.
Ford continues to be the most reliable American automaker.
your old Aerostar ...
My Dad’s old Windstar was just as bad, maybe worse.
Not impressed by that at all.
What does impress me is my neighbors early 1970s F150 Ford truck, with almost 700,000 + miles on it, on it's 2nd motor, and he uses for work and play daily....And it looks like it's all of 2 years old, super clean and well maintained, and completely stock.
And the Titan is built in the US.
As a side note, last summer we bought my wife a new Ford, traded in a 2-year old VW New Beetle convertible that had been in the shop for warranty repairs 7 times (including a new A/C compressor after 5 months). That's what you get when you buy a Mexican built German car.
Hey dragnet. I bought an Infinity. Ford lost my business. I didn't buy an American, UAW product.
Honda Ridgeline also American made...
Honda Manufacturing of Alabama
Lincoln, Alabama
operating since November 16, 2001
I never believed to a union...Ever...Lol...How about you?
"Ford continues to be the most reliable American automaker."
Not my quote...I'm taking quotes for the article.
Sorry if the truth rubs ya the wrong way.
There are hundreds of thousands of very old Ford trucks on the road.....How many Infinities from 2009 you think you will see on the road in 30 years?
2001 Toyota Hylander...165,ooo miles on it. Just got oil changed today. The technician was raving about the suspension, engine, etc...I’ll have this for another 100k or so...I will be in the market for a used vehicle and will look at Lexus or Toyota. Stay with what works...
Sold the Lexus with 312k miles on it and got an Acura TL. Fine car, but it’s like driving a coiled spring, very responsive, but being an old goat I just miss my Lexus.
So, after we get a little cash reserve we will trade the Acura in on another Lexus. Once you drive a Lexus, you simply cannot go with any other car without missing the Lexus driving experience. Relaxing drive, with power when you need it, but smooth, quiet and precision I just don’t feel with the TL. The Acura is a younger man’s car, I guess.
The difference between early 70’s and early 21st century...
yep...I get the Lexus thing. I had an ex300 and then we had 2 kids. Turned it in off lease with 72k miles and bought a Sienna van. Man I miss that Lexus. I will look at those as well coming off leases. That was a smooth ride and great sound system too.
Depends on what you mean by "lemon," I suppose.
2001 Dodge Ram 2500, purchased new:
Year 1: Cruise control quits. Fixed under warranty.
Year 2: Parking brake handle comes off in my hand. Rear view mirror falls off. Headlight fogs up on inside.
Year 3: Two out of four speakers quit working.
Year 5: Under hood insulation mat disintegrates, clogging air filter.
Year 6: Large cracks appear in dash, then holes you could drop a volleyball through. Known issue in this model year; Chrysler says "too bad."
The only thing well-built on this truck is the engine, which was made by Cummins. The rest of the truck is pure, unadulterated, embarrasingly bad junk.
I’m still driving my 1988 Ford F150.
Well, I sure as hell ain’t driving my 1988 Aerostar! I think it’s a planter somewhere by now. Never, ever again.
