Rather than trying to play devil’s advocate, why not simply post your sincere opinon or belief on an issue being discussed.
After a few years, when you have exchanges between poster’s that know you, then you can strive for bringing others to common ground by taking a devil’s advocate stance.
Don’t worry about Jim Robinson, just follow his rules on the home page and use the site to discuss conservatism and defending the constitution.
If you want to support or discuss non-conservative issues and political figures, do it elsewhere.
I prefer the Devil's Advocate position, since that implies enough intellectual capital to know it requires supporting argument.
Beliefs and opinions are useless without at least one cogent, rational reason for the position. Unfortunately too many old and new Freepers haven't grasped that.
By the way, hypotheticals are not argument.
