Dell Inspiron 6000 owned by a relative.
I have isolated the problem to the LDC inverter (k021087.00),
however Dell will not sell just the inverter board. They will sell
only a kit which is the whole display for $400, Dell rip-off.
I was looking at several suppliers of this board and on Ebay. The
prices seem to run from $10 to $50. Newegg and Digikey ,
2 dealers I am satisfied with in the past, do not handle the item.
Was looking at an outfit called Yallstore which has the part.
Was wondering if anyone has dealt with them or could
recommend a good vender of such parts
(realizing that all will probably be Chinese companies).
Any advise much appreciated.

There are over 27,000 laptops on Ebay.
You can find almost anything there at good prices.
That includes ones for parts.
You can’t spell.
I won’t help you. /s
They sell those kits on Amazon. Get it from one of them and you will have it the next day.
Sometimes they even provide a neat little tool for separating the frame.
You botched the whole post. LOL
Go back and read it.
Wait!!!
I remember seeing something perfect for your post.
I’ll be back.
That's "Cajum" to you. ;)
Here you are .. $12.99
That’s pretty cool.
I did not know you could buy those. Thought you had to buy the whole thing.
if you don’t know the exact steps to replace the inverter, you can go to fixya.com (search through google) and you should be able to find step by step instructions for that model or similar models.
Looking at the manu. part numbers I keep coming up with K02I048.01
Are you sure you have the right part number?
for reference:

Yeah, right part number. Looked on the board itself. Sticker on board had K021087.00 with LTN 154X-B2. Board itself had the K021087.00 Rev 4 number.
Thanks for list of other vendors, will check them out.
I have done a ton of business with Moniserv. I bought much of my test equipment from them (they’ll even build testers to spec for you), as well as a lot of LCD and LED parts. Good folks.
Thanks for the recommendation of them, from what I have found they seem to be very reputable for LCD parts (lamps and inverters). Will probably order inverter from them tonight.
