You can get a product called "Damp Rid" at the supermarket, usually in the "detergent/cleaners" aisle, typically near the drain openers. Damp Rid is nothing but dessicant.
I worked Falcon missiles back in my USAF days and we had to keep 8 to 10 bags of dessicant in each missile case, and change them every 6 months.

I would not recommend Damp Rid for packaging purposes. It is a type of desiccant that becomes liquid as it absorbs moisture. Quite messy, I would think, it nothing worse, in a package.
Damp Rid is designed for closets and other semi-open spaces. It would work in packaged applications if you can be sure it won’t spill.

You need to replace “Damp Rid” every several months, by buying NEW “Damp Rid”. Buying Rem-Dri or other dessicants which can be recharged in an oven is a much better option.....at least it is what I do.
