Maytag, but you’ll pay the premium. Sears has almost all brands, and they’re usually in a negotiating mood in this economy. Ask the salesperson when the next “friends and family night” is and try to get an invite for extra discounts. If they won’t budge, go to Lowes.
I recently purchased a Kenmore dishwasher from Sears, having selected the model I did in order to qualify for an $80 rebate on delivery and installation. At check out the salesman gave us another 5% discount ($20) for using our Sears card.
When we applied for the rebate online, the rebate center disqualified us from the $80 due to the lower $20 discount.
Needless to say, I am an unhappy camper. I've sent a detailed letter to the CEO of Sears Holding but haven't received my promised rebate.
I would recommend that anybody expecting to have the advantage of any discounts steer clear of Sears.
I just received a call from a very polite man working for a Sears customer satisfaction group. He saw things my way and will be sending out the rebate I was expecting. Aside from having to write to the Sears CEO in order to get satisfaction, I am now a happy camper and will continue doing business with Sears.
