We got a front loader a couple of years ago. More “efficient” but you pay for efficiency with stinky cloths. If I had to do it again I would buy the inefficient and cheaper top loader. Your cloths will not stink when they come out of the top loader.

If I may make a suggestion, the stinky problem may be related to using too much detergent. I’ve experienced the same thing when I had an especially dirty load and increased the detergent. I found that when I use less detergetn, I get much better results.

Even Rush Limbaugh commented on the “odor/bacteria” aspect of front loaders a few months back.
