Isn’t it just as dangerous as a motorcycle?

I think a motorcycle might be safer because the other driver might have a heightend awareness plus might use extra caution.

Arguably much more dangerous. With a motorcycle you have a better power-to-weight ratio, better maneuverability, require less lane space, and you can look around better (more traffic awareness)--given road conditions are not icy.

All that translates to being better able to assess potential threats and do something to avoid them if you are a skilled rider.
