The elimination of useless, wasteful bureaucracy needs to start somewhere.

All public broadcasting. It’s nothing more than a liberal propaganda machine.

Most of NPR’s money doesn’t come from the government, anyway.

Considering how much they get from corporate grants and listeners, they should be able to do just fine without our money.

How about the Department of Education. Let’s get rid of that one. What a waste...

Don’t be so sure.

Americans are getting fed up with political correctness.

Besides, it’s going to ruffle feathers to do the right thing and start de-funding liberal moneypit bureaucracies.

Gotta start somewhere. If there’s whining involved, oh well.

Let there be whining then. Do it anyway.

I agree. Add National Endowment for the Arts and any support for public broadcasting.

Good luck. Repubs have been trying for decades to defund NPR. This was the latest try:

NPR violates the First Amendment.

NPR is government journalism.

Blatantly un-Constitutional. De-fund it.

Yeah, they should eliminate as well the Veterans Inspection of Food, that was for 1847 when Mexicans sold tainted milk and poisoned cheese to soldiers. Probably most comissaries on Bases should be axed. These food chains operate every year at a loss, and all soldiers can shop at Walmart or Krogers like the rest of us...only in countries where they don’t have access to Twinkies should these PX giants operate. I’ve had ‘officers’ take me on base and let me pick and they paid for my subsidized clothes.

Totalitarian dictatorships like Nazi Germany, Communist China, the Soviet Union and it's heirs seem to require and are certainly characterized by government-run newspapers, radio, television, and a national “arts” machine. Free societies provide better communication and artistic output via the free market.

I'm quite confident that government “workers” employed as a journalists or artists, dancers, musicians, actors, playwrights, poets, etc. by America's Public Broadcasting System, National Council of the Arts, or similar bureaucracies will find useful, rewarding, and remunerative work their chosen fields once these money pits have been closed down. The others may wish to consider alternative careers like landscape maintenance, or other jobs that “Americans won't do”>

I've seen a few signs in the windows of (privately owned) local restaurants indicating employment opportunities.

I agree, however, saying it is a lot harder than doing it.

Libtard candidate here said if my opponent gets rid if the Department of Education our state’s schools will lose a billion dollars in federal money.

Question: To get that one billion back here, how many billions of taxpayer money have to go to Washington?

Nope, it's only a matter of political will.

If they get the majority in the house {where all money bills begin} simply do not fund npr, the senate can scream, and add amendments, but if the house has the balls, they can defeat it in conference.

No money is funded for npr, there is nothing the senate or the one can do about it.
