They like “teaching” feelings and self-esteem over no achievement whatsoever.

I missed one, the Q on art. What is a painting of a hill with trees and sky called? My guess: Realism?

Thanks for posting.
The article has an interesting link to a site where I have been reading some great ideas on improving education.

If kids aren’t learning, point the finger squarely at their parents and the teachers. The 60s generation’s method of parenting and teaching is turning out to be a disaster when put into practice now that they are in charge.

All of this testing IS bad because it leads to a national curriculum. If the entire country is being given the same tests, the curriculum gets built around the tests. These tests are not the same as the Standard Achievement Tests and the Iowa tests they used to give to measure general knowledge and general academics. The assessment tests like the MEAP in Michigan measure things like how well they ere indoctrinated with the Core Democratic Values, environmentalism, and other garbage.

And they give them constantly. The kids are tested for over two hours a day for about two weeks in the fall and again in the spring. It used to be mostly fourth grade and maybe a middle and upper grade. But its now getting to be that they're testing every year.

According to information from the The Daughters of The American Revolution I read a few years ago some 36% of American college students have absolutely no idea about when the Revolution was fought, or who were any of the Founders. They were equally as ignorant of Civil War history as well as the histories of World War One and Two.
