Tom Bosley (Mr. Cunningham) has died

Tom Bosley the folksy father of Richie Cunningham on the '70s sitcom
about the '50s, ABC's Happy Days, died Tuesday in his Palm Springs, Calif., home,
of a staph infection.
On Oct. 1 he had turned 83.

Whoa! I would not have recognized him from that picture. Maybe had I seen him on TV and heard him speak -- very distinctive when speaking. He was old school that way. Didn't mumble or shout likes today's "actors" and celebrities do.
He was good in whatever he did. Even the bit part in Rod Serling's *Night Gallery* series.

Would have taken awhile, but sure, it's Bosley. Big ears in old age!
Prayers for his family and friends - I never heard a bad thing about the man. Maybe just as sweet in real life as the characters he played on screen.

He was in a wonderful Christmas movie called Mary Christmas, too.

Toward the end of that show's run they'd seemingly stopped even pretending that the show was set in the '50s - I remember the dad character wearing tinted '70s sunglasses and loud '70s clothing. Unintentionally funny.Remember Alan Alda's hair in MASH? He would be placed on report today, never mind in the early '50s for that mop he wore.
