In the winter, I use one in a goose neck desk lamp to keep my mouse hand warm.

You are obviously a genius because I do exactly the same thing with a 250W heat bulb.

You don't have to keep the whole house as warm as you like it in the spot you're sitting and you get a nice warm glow. It's just like sitting in the sun...almost.

In Japan the low tables have a skirt and underneath two
or three 100 watt bulbs, you sit on the tatami with your
knees and hands under the skirt, works pretty well.
At least forty years ago when I was there.
