Brilliant mind of the Germans!

Looks like we Americans will have to do something similar if the 2012 incandescent bulb ban holds.

I’ve been slowly stocking up.

I expect that in 2012 organized crime will be dealing in contraband light bulbs, high flow toilets and cigarettes and find a ready market with US consumers.

It's one of those: “why didn't I think of that” things.

Incandescent bulbs can actually be more efficient heaters, than such convection heaters as baseboard heaters, or forced air heat. If you use one as a reading lamp, it radiates heat on you, as you read. Radiant heat makes you feel warmer, at lower air temperatures, compared to convection heaters.

Around here, we need some supplemental heating at least 8 months of the year. The CFL bulbs save us absolutely nothing — except for our porch light, of course.

Turn off the heater when you leave the room!

You can’t heat a chicken coop with a fluorescent bulb.

A German entrepreneur is bypassing a European Union ban on light bulbs...

He may be a German, but his spirit is American. We need immigrants like this man. Too bad he had to import the bulbs er heaters from China. Well, people expect Chinese heaters to explode anyway, so no nasty surprises.
