I wish I could find a way around that @#$&*%!@ two handed safety gas can nozzle.

Simple: take the nozzle off the can, then use a wide mouth funnel with a long spout, or even one with a piece of old hose clamped to it.

I'm glad I have a good supply of the old style, after seeing my first CARB-Approved can at the hardware store.

I haven't checked to see if the old caps' threads will interchange with the new can necks, as that would entail buying one of the POS things.

Please, someone start a black market for the old inhalers with CFCs and dishwasher detergent with phosphates. You would be my hero!

That’s right or under the kitchen sink on those sub-zero nights. REAL Americans know the value of an incandescent bulb! ;^)

In the winter, I use one in a goose neck desk lamp to keep my mouse hand warm.

It's nice to see that someone cares so much about his pet mouse that he'd go to all that trouble. Oh, you meant... Nevermind.

I actually use the oven light in my kitchen oven for making yogurt. With the door cracked a certain amount (a deck of cards) and the oven light on... the oven stays right around 112 degrees. Sometimes I have to turn the light off if the temp starts getting to high, but just turn it back on 5 minutes later and adjust the crack size in the door by shifting the pack of cards.

It beats paying $1.05/lb for the cheapest store-bought yogurt, when a whole gallon of milk can be had for $2.79.

I’ve never tried to make yogurt

I thought about that mouse thing and got a cat. The lamp also has nothing to do with the kind of bird my dogs loves to chase on land and in the water. It’s really more of a drafting lamp with an incandescent bulb holding reflector head.

AND, the lamp really does nothing to fix the breezes in the house. You are likely thinking about draughts...

...forty years ago when I was there. Jeez, it’s been that long!

Like the frog says, "Times fun when you're having flies," or something like that.

I've read in the even older days they'd heat up rocks in the charcoal brazier and put those under the tatami. It's good to know they have something to fall back on when there are no more 100W bulbs to be had.

Of course their idea of spending an evening soaking in a hot tub isn't bad either.

"that @#$&*%!@ two handed safety gas can nozzle."

I bought and tried one of those things. The nozzle is not long enough and it leaks anyway. I spilled 1 gallon putting 5 gal into an old Suburban. Fortunately, I have plenty of old style nozzles.
