MERCK SUED: HomeAgain® PET CHIP IMPLICATED IN CANCER

New website, ChipMeNot.com, features details on cancer case and other adverse reactions

Nashua, NH (CASPIAN) October 13, 2010

Pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. has been served with a lawsuit over claims its HomeAgain® pet microchip induced cancer in a cat. Animal rights attorney Steven Wise seeks "reasonable compensatory damages" for a malignant tumor "likely" induced by a HomeAgain® ID chip implanted in his client's cat, Bulkin.

The complaint, "Andrea Rutherford v. Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp. and Digital Angel, Inc.,"(case # 1052CV1147) was filed last week in Cambridge (MA) District Court. The complaint named implant maker Digital Angel Corporation as a co-defendant.

"Based on the alarming number of microchip-linked cancers we're discovering, I predict this lawsuit will be just the tip of the iceberg," said Dr. Katherine Albrecht, a consumer advocate and expert on adverse reactions associated with implantable microchips.

Bulkin's case is featured at www.ChipMeNot.com, a new website launched by Albrecht's consumer group CASPIAN to bring attention to the plight of animals who have developed cancer and other adverse reactions from ID microchips. Albrecht documents several of these cases in "Microchip-Induced Tumors in Laboratory Rodents and Dogs: A Review of the Literature 1990–2006," a peer-reviewed academic paper she presented at a June conference of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers devoted to concerns about implantable microchips.

Through a lot of link clicking I read the Bio of one Voluteers at this anti-chip org. She got involved because her Yorkie didn't live "the 15 years it was supposed to". Well news flash to her -- The life expectancy of a Yorkie is about 12 to 15 years. Operative word being, "about".

Full disclosure: Yes, our Yellow Lab does have a Chip. I had it done when she was spayed at four months old. She's a little over Three years old now and healthy as a horse a Yellow Lab can be.

People forget or ignore that Pure Bred Dogs are prone to many Breed Specific illnesses. For a Great Dane its Cancer, for a Lab, one is Epilepsy. The onset can occur from 2 to 5 years old. So could I blame the Chip if she does get Epilepsy?

There's a ref to Chips and tests with Lab Rats. It states that Lab Rats are a 'hardy' species. That is 100% baloney. A Lab Rat can get sick and die if you sneeze near one as they have almost no immune system. They have to be kept in a sterile environment or 'else'.

Aha. I have had Yorkies. That explains it.

Look, it hurts to lose an animal friend..I understand that. But the reality is that my guys used to run around like weasles on crack. They did live about twelve years. And that was almost surprising, since they never stopped.

Unfortunately, the epidemic of cancers and hyperthyroidism in cats has been caused by the adjuvants added to most cat vaccines to "boost" their effectiveness since cat vaccines now use killed-virus vaccines and don't work well without adjuvants. Adjuvants are extremely nasty molecules that deliberately "irritate" the immune system to unnatural super-levels of hyperactivity.

People, if you love your cats, then don't vaccinate them at all if they're indoor-only cats. Only vaccinate if they go outdoors and are likely to be in contact with wild animals or feral cats. And then vaccinate them only with adjuvant-free PureVax vaccines.

I agree. There are far more electronically active implants such as pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, and many others. They’ve been around for decades. If this connection were true, they’d already be suing the medical implant makers for causing cancer. This is just lawyers on a fishing expedition.

They are already adding mercury and other molecules that cause cancer and infertility. The FDA changed its definition for what constitutes “safe” vax. Thats why i’m never getting vaxed and I will never vax my kids.

My favorite move by the FDA was, after pets were dying from melamine (plastic) added to their food by China to increase the tested protein content, setting an acceptable amount for plastic in the food.

Also real fond of their removal of CFC asthma inhalers (that actually worked) because of the shrinking ozone layer. /sarc
