This is exactly why I oppose the death penalty.

You may say that now, but if what recently happened in AZ happened to someone in your family you may think different. The death penalty is the only sure way to prevent repeat offenders.

Been hearing for years the cost of death row inmates, but have never seen the breakdown of the costs...that would be interesting to see...lawyers 1,000,000 dollars, misc 89.25 cents...

One bullet through the dude’s noggin is very cheap...the clean-up might cost a bit more.

The prisoners from a prison, I am not sure if it was Casa Grande but they escaped then killed a couple camping. There was also the Tyson gang that escaped from Casa Grande many years ago when I lived there.

I kinda remember the Tison Gang rampage. I was in Flagstaff at the time. Just horrible.

Heartbreaking account of it here: http://www.ncc-1776.org/tle1997/le970202-04.html

Average time spent on death row is now 12 years, double what it was twenty years ago. It costs about $90,000 more per year to house a death row inmate than other inmates.

Wait time in California is 20 years. I’d love to know what percentage of California death row inmates die in prison of natural causes.

System is broken. Thank a liberal.

I remember my wife and I were camping out between Phoenix and Flagstaff and all of a sudden my dog went crazy. We got back in the van and took off. We were never sure what it was but we were not taking any chances. We could have been two more victims.
