Please pray on this day, and every day, for our Patriot Armed Forces standing in harm's way around the world in defense of our liberty, and for the families awaiting their safe return.
I din’t know Chrysler ran on Mercury outboards.. wow. that must have left a lot of daybree..
uhh.. oh wait that herb Thomas..

He won 48 NASCAR Grand National races in 230 career starts, a 20.9 winning percentage, which remains the best on the all-time list.
Back in the “days of glory” for NASCAR it was real racing, 1980 to 1992-93. After that it slid off into this pretty boy moneyed racket. Teams with multiple drivers who would assist the team leader and block others. They drove the privateer into oblivion. Gant, Kulwicki, and the like, were real racers who drove like there was no tomorrow in cars that they developed to be better and faster.
In the last 15 years, it has become more spectacle than race. The Daytona 500 used to start promptly at noon. Now it starts at like 2:00 pm with a freak show of celubutards as a warm-up. WTF is that?
Caution flags at the most mundane of trash on the track, and a minimum of two extra caution laps for each caution flag. An average 10 cautions for a 500 mile race. Finish under caution?
They have taken the ability to tune the engine, build a better chassis, away from the teams. Anyone can build a solid engine to be run hard for 500 miles, the key was to build it to be faster, better on fuel with the expertise you developed from racing for years.
It has just gotten so far away from the saturday night racing that it is no longer enjoyable for me.
Hence my comment, Has almost gotten to the point of the brightly colored Fruit Loops in the toilet swirling around.
If the could get rid of Bill France Jr. and get rid of the spectacle aspect and focus on racing, limit the number of cars per team to two, or better yet, one. Give them tunable electronic fuel injection and ignition, and let them play with the chassis it could be fun again.
If they are desirous of keeping the speeds down, limit the displacement down from 358 to 300, or less. But they have lost the magic, and it is more of a popularity contest, not a motor contest.
FWIW just my two cents.
I know. History started the day I was born...

Why do the best stories come out of the UK?
Heck, we should get a FRee pizza a week from Hell’s Kitchen (which I’m watching right now, beer in hand) to help assuage the pain.. shucks and t’arnation. I was hoping for a gas catch can man spot..
A friend’s son hooked him in the cheek on the first cast. They had walked about 2.5 miles down to the river to fish.
They stayed and fished, then had to walk all the way back.
He never did say if they caught anything. :)
pod people seemed normal too , sort of.. *-)
Because our media is in the tank?
Just a wild guess ya know.
I only had minor sticks, been hurt worse by the fish. Sharks are not the only ones blessed with wicked teeth.
