Please pray on this day, and every day, for our Patriot Armed Forces standing in harm's way around the world in defense of our liberty, and for the families awaiting their safe return.
got it, thanks.
Times are tough for everyone I guess. Flash hasn’t even made 5 mil yet.
Gracias por el Pingo, I am currently away on assignment in an undisclosed location with limited TeeVee feeds, at least in Inglis.
So funny, in order to be legally in “my undisclosed location” I had to provide my passport and have a copy made to prove to immigration I was here legally. Then, yesterday on el Highway, there was a military check point...fully loaded sidearms, automatic scary black guns and a random selection of cars to be inspected for...*PAPERS*!!
If you do not have your documents, they take you away, mucho dinero and a one way ticket OUT OF THE COUNTRY!!!
Our host told me that one of his executives was caught without his passport on his person and had to pay a $6,000 Dollar (US)fine!!
With the Nascar season winding down, picking drivers seems like trying to pin the tail on el burro...
Be Safe !

Thanks for the ping...the #5 car, hmmmmm? Mark has running well the last couple of weeks...did they take an engineer or two from you know who to assist?? (No tires...come on!)
Damm... I didn’t catch this graphic the first five times I read the thread...
Persistence pays off. Jeff is 4th in point standings and hasn't won a race this year. But I'm still a fan.
Me too. :)
I remember several years ago when Terry LaBonte won the championship. He only had a couple of wins that year, but that was BC (before chase).
Thanks Grok!
Patience Tork...next week!
Yehbut I have already thanked you for this week?
(if ya want previews, I usually post "works in progress" at the tail end of the last thread from an upcoming track)
I used to be a big NASCAR fan but the rules have turned me off.
Need to be on lead lap to pit on the first lap of a caution
To many cars fielded by “syndicates”
No Fuel Injection/ Engine Electronics.
Car of tomorrow.
Started to drift away when Kulwicki died. Lost it when they dumped the name Winston Cup. The rest of it was just for good measure.
Advertising Ash trays are todays hot collectors items...
Speaking of Allan Kulwicki, he set up a scholarship for young NASCAR kids to attend the UNC school of engineering and the son of dear FRiends of mine won the first one and they sold out here and moved Hat & Ass to the Charlotte area to be near him. Rudy went to work for Humpy Wheeler at the Speedway in the fabrication shop and designed the Thunder Roadster and Bandalero cars plus all the gimmick vehicles that thrilled the crowds there.
Now Pam is on my prayer chain as she has lung cancer and is in intensive Chemo and Radiation treatments and eMails me twice a week if she can as to her progress. She and Rudy were heavy smokers and probably even smoked Winston’s from time to time.
I quit watching Indy racing when Billy Vulkovich was killed and they dropped the roadsters in favor the Tinker Toy cars of today. I attended my first GRAND NATIONAL Race in 1956... as a tire changer for a west coast privateer...

what were ya running? bootleg bordeaux? ;-)
I was 2 in 1956.. I remember seeing a little nascar at an early age when we got a tv, that is.. but that is in the late 60s, if my memory ain’t vapour locked..
it’s not much of a sport anymore. oh well.
stay tuned.. or not. :-]
You were a fan of the winner finishing 6 laps ahead of the second place car?. I liked Nascar the year JJ won his 4th championship...
It’s cookie cutter these days,, what challenges do the modern day teams face that the early ones didn’t? use the same equipment , try and kick everyone’s rear, regardless.. JJ has done well while others have flailed.. I wish I could remember more Petty races.. 8-}
Thanks for getting this going.. if I seem a bit absent the next few days.. My laptop took a turn south and I’m running on backup.. To$heebar, XP and MicroSoft scrupled me good.. I’m letting Geeks soop up the ol’ one.. I was torn, buy a new one, heck, saw some nice ones for $400-800, or trash the old one or .. ‘data-save what ya can’/ OS upgrade.. I guess it won’t hurt too bad joining the 2nd half of the first decade of the 3rd Millennium.. at least in software. :-\ hope that passes the template. :-|
