Scruff of the neck works for me.
OMG! LOLOL!
It’s a good thing I wasn’t trying to drink something ....it would be all over my laptop.
A seven year old dashed after her mom and mom's b.f. at a park near me. Went over the edge and 100 feet down, at the head of a canyon. Restraint: eh. Supervision: essential.
hmmmm.... I took my kid hiking in the chiricahaus during winter at age 5.
Hung him over a cliff and said “you see that boy?” “Slow down!!”
I bought one for my oldest son when he was a toddler — except that he never toddled, just ran at full speed as soon as he could (before a year).
I got evil looks and one old lady even chewed me out.
In general, it worked, except when he chose to get on his knees and bark. In public.
This was a delightful little boy who had more motor skills than he had common sense. The leash was most appropriate, and he grew into a fine adult.
I always preferred the stroller, too, but one of my boys could unlatch any restraint and get loose. He was also prone to wiggling until he got his feet on the ground, then carrying the umbrella stroller on his back.
There’s no real answer to the toddler years. Eventually they develop some sense. In the meantime, you just have to love them and be ever vigilant.
Hilarious!
Hilarious!
I went out to the store once and mine decided to follow me.
the little bugger wandered out of the house following Dad.
We searched for hours terrified.
The little monkey was over at the mall.
scary shit.
Pay back for when i wandered of at 4 at the firestone golf course on the 4th of july.
As a mom of twins I did use a leash in public places. I did get dirty looks but I also was offered money several times from other parents trying to buy the leash from me. In less crowded places I just held their hands. Parents need to be firm about hand holding I see a lot of parents begging their children to keep a hold of their hands. Don’t beg them ,don’t give them a choice.
My second son walked at 10 months and was always a bundle of energy. He would just pull away from my hand and dart off unpredictably, so the leash became the only safe way to take him out in public, especially since I also had his brother, only 2 years older, to look after. I did not like the concept, but it really was a matter of his safety.
Yes, I did get some looks, but I learned to ignore them. I had two more boys after this, very close in age, but I never needed the leash with them. Of course, once I had a total of 4 children under the age of 6, I did not go out shopping as often.
How many children do you have?
It all depends on how close you are to the alligator farm. Metaphorically speaking of course. /Meta
“ahh the patter of little feet around the house...There is nothing like a midget butler...”
My folks didn’t use a leash. They used a BELT. Sometimes dad would use a cowboy boot. You definitely got the point then.
LoL! A cowboy boot?!! Hope he took the spurs off!
