I don’t know what I find more alarming....

That you know that effect about asparagus......

It’s a metabolite of asparagus that has that effect. Either you can smell it, or you can’t. If you can’t, no amount of sniffing is going to reveal the funky smell to you, but if you can, you can smell it as soon as you walk into a restroom after someone who has recently consumed asparagus.
