October Surprise?
Looks like the plan might be car or bombs as well as Mumbai-style shooters in NYC. I wonder if the ones caught in the Mercedes in CT on Wednesday with the pipe bomb and ammunition and masks were part of the shooter squad. And possibly the ones that were in the shootout with the trooper tonight? It sounds like the staging area might be Connecticut with an I-95 route into the city (truck, car and/or train).
The story says about the truck it was a dispute between the driver and the owner.
I’ll bet twenty the owner stiffed the driver over money and the driver kept the truck and the owner made a bogus tip to get law enforcement attention because if he reported it “stolen” he knew he would have to reveal his relationship to the driver and the LEOs would say “civil court for you!”

U.S. authorities plan a law enforcement surge this week along Amtrak routes, an exercise called RailSafe, and the heads of the country’s biggest mass transit systems were briefed today on the possible terror threat, all part of what is being called an abundance of caution.
On the surface it would appear the intended target is NYC. But I don’t know if I buy into that. All this could be part of a diversion when the real target could be Chicago, LA or some other large metropolitan area. Unfortunately, we’re sure to find out one day.
But, but, Obama’s people recently said that we can absorb another attack. So this shouldn’t be a problem.

Ok, in the article in post no. 1; I posted snippets of three unrelated incidents.
Item 1 has been covered — truck was empty, no explosives, no bomb and apparently an employee/employer incident and/or a non-terrorism incident.
Item 2 was a trooper shooting incident regarding a stolen vehicle/trooper being shot at. Here’s the update:

SNIPPET: “DANBURY — Danbury police confirmed that a state trooper shot and killed a motorist Friday night after a traffic stop on the eastbound side of Interstate 84 near exit 5.
Police said the motorist fired first at the trooper, who returned fire and killed the driver.
State troopers assisted Danbury Police in a stolen vehicle pursuit, which turned into a foot pursuit state police spokesman Kelly Grant said.
“A life-threatening situation ensued, resulting in a trooper discharging his weapon,” Grant said.
The driver’s body will be transferred to a medical examiner for autopsy, Grant said.
Police are not releasing the identity of the motorist at this time, Grant said, and are not releasing information on whether there were other passengers.”

BRANFORD, Conn. —
SNIPPET: “In nearby New Haven on Wednesday, two men were found in a Mercedes with what appeared to be a pipe bomb, ammunition, gas masks and other materials. Authorities say it’s unclear whether they planned to use the explosives because they are not talking to investigators. Both were being held on $500,000 bond.”
