THat is a horrible story. Wonder what happened to the bullies. Your positon of having to suck it up to protect your parents is so sad but so brave.

There are many more stories where that came from, unfortunately. I've pretty much pushed the high school years out of my memory but I will recall them from time to time when the subject of bullying comes up because it angers me it is still allowed to go on. Fortunately, I was able to bring my own two kids up in a decent neighborhood and while they were subject to some bullying, it wasn't nearly as bad as when I went to school. Also, they made a lot of friends which definitely helps.

I went to high school in the East Boston area growing up. If you remember the 1970s show "Welcome Back Kotter", well that was what my high school was like, except the "sweathogs" weren't as charming!
