This is somebody’s list, alright. Except for a few selections, it sure as hell ain’t mine.

Looks like a pretty decent list. Of course, it’s all based on personal taste. I’m sure we’ll get a few bemoaning the absence of guitar genius Johnny Noname, but such is the nature of these lists.

“I got a line on you (babe)” by Spirit. Great riff at the end of that song.

I’ve always liked Davis Gilmour’s solo at the end of ‘High Hopes’. The combination of lap steel followed by acoustic is great. His best performance of the song might have been in Gdansk with an orchestra. (above video - solo kicks in at 5 minute mark).

Huh. Allman Brothers’ live version of Whipping Post should be near the top. Prince is a hell of a guitarist - his live version of Red House is killer. And yeah, it’s blues but Gary Moore’s Parisienne Walkways deserves to be there.

My Sharona????I hear you. It's more of a riff than a solo.

Yeah. Johnny Nonames like Alvin Lee, Jeff Baxter, and Jeff Beck.
And if the point is to indentify great guitar solos as opposed to naming well-known guitarists who can play really fast, there are some Johnny Nonames who belong here--guitarists like Tony Peluso and Jay Graydon.

As soon as I saw the title, I though Knopfler's
Going Home HAS to be on the list...

1. Stairway to Heaven, Led Zeppelin (Jimmy Page)I'll give Gibson credit for selecting something recorded on a Fender Telecaster as their number one guitar solo.
