I know what you mean, Potlatch! Like Thanksgiving dinner:
I can spend days baking pies, preparing stuffing, peeling, mashing, basting, chopping, simmering, baking, cooking - to make sure I serve the PERFECT meal.
Ahhhhh! Serve the feast, say the prayer, and.........
In fifteen minutes, everybody is done, and then there is the cyclone left to clean up. (Is it REALLY worth it?)
[ work all day and through eating in 15 minutes....]
I’ve been saying that for years, lol. All the work while everyone else is in the den watching football games and having fun!
I no longer bake, I order my pies and platters of cookies from the bakery. The girls are doing a lot more now to help, thank goodness, lol. They do most all of the cleanup now and that is a really good thing.
