The arrival of the US team at the Ryder Cup this week resembled an invasion of science teachers, lost in time and space after an experiment went wrong back in 1977. Boxy jackets, Travolta trousers and please God, no are those slip-on shoes?
Small wonder that several team members chose to don dark glasses. The kit for the 1999 tournament was so heinous that Tiger Woods admitted to incinerating his outfit in its wake. This year, he may be tempted to set light to it before.

stuffy English taste.
And from what I have heard the worst food near and in Europe is in England. So there.
Come to Texas and have Bar-B-Que and some Jalapeños. Or some of my chuck wagon food.
I like those sweaters. They capture the essence of golf - boring.
Lisa Pavin is the Yoko Ono of the golf world?
I don’t golf either. All my peers did during my 35 years in the distribution business, but I had no interest in it.
My father-in-law was smitten by golf as a child and never recovered. He was very good too. (lost him in December to alzheimer’s and parkinson’s)
Now that you mention it, you don’t see too many Stetsons out on the golf course. Or Cowboy Boots with soft spikes.
But you do see a lot of Texas wedges in use on the course.
Yeah very tedious having only one possible felon in the PGA. A sport that does not have fawning commercials about Obama like the NFL, NBA, NCAA and MBL. Also a sport where most of the players are Repubs.
Going to a tourney and seeing Phil, DJ or Bubba hit a drive 340 yards is not boring.
Pretty plain, nothing outlandish.
Should I issue a “Fashion Police” PING? ;-)
Possibly the best golfer ever was a Texan. Can you name him?
He was not a stinking RINO/DIABLO like Rick Perry, Kay Bailey or Cornyn or a sod*mist like Texas non-CU.
The coolest guy on the US team lives in Plano but he is from So Cal like Phil.

here are some pictures of the clothing
Oh it gets worse. Speaking of Celtic - the biggest risk for the US there may be from Northern Ire.
Lee Travino?
He was born in Stephenville, Texas not Mexico.
Ben Hogan!
We have a winner. Ben Hogan. A great champion. He gets in a head on accident with a Greyhound bus. At the last second dives in front of his wife in the passenger seat to save her. This is before seat belts. He almost dies, everything broken, 1940s medicine.
He comes back in pain and wins everything. Even today golfers watch his swing over and over on youtube to marvel at his swing.
Byron Nelson was another great Texan.
Throw in a few chili patins for good measure. That’ll warm things up a bit.
Kay Bailey and Cornyn are definately RINO's
Governor "Rick" is a bit more complicated. He is NOT a leftie. He has backed some really bone-headed things, but when he stood up at the San Antonio Tea Party and said what he did he assured his re-election. The state is in pretty good financial shape in spite of this mess. His family were Democrats until the left took it over. They were always fiscally conservative. He is from my county and about my age, although I have never met him. I was a delegate at the state Republican Convention when he was elected on his own. I know his father and mother.
Yeah, and Tiger has done absolutely nothing this year to merit an invite, in fact, the guy has hardly any class compared to most pro golfers.
