Or, you could buy a 62 Pioneer Elite Pro-119 like I have. That would set you back about $6500. Yeah, um, no. And shhhh, don't tell all my guys about it...

Don't buy one. Save the money, and save the wasted hours in front of it for more important things. TV free for 10 years here.
I agree about watching TV. However, I still own a widescreen LCD TV...because I use it as my computer monitor. I'm surfing FreeRepublic on a 46" screen, baby!

My kids bought a BIG one..52”. Didn’t like that the people’s heads on the TV were bigger than mine.

Well, you know which one NOT to buy. Which one? Did Obama buy an electronics firm too?

Where in California are you?
I can GIVE you a FREE 38” MONSTER conventional TV if you would drive by to pick it up!
I am north of L.A. (near the hellmouth).

Try no TV for a while. Personally I watch very little TV. But it's great for when you are ill, and there are some cool things on there too. But I live with lotsa big and little guys who do all sorts of things on there. Gaming, sports, educational stuff... And movies.

Do PCs with TV cards count? Sure. I want a big number.

Wait till after Thanksgiving. The prices will drop $100,00.

Are you sure the sound went out? Had your hearing checked lately? Also, there's a choice to have the words run across the screen. (I've always wondered who gets to type that stuff- court reporter?)
I like LCDs, but the new LEDs use less energy (I hear). Saw some 3-Ds yesterday, only one was very good (panasonic?) but I don't want to wear glasses to watch TV.
If I were buying a new one, it wouldn't come with an on/off switch on the front that a 2 y.o. can get to. And get to. And get to.

Thank you so much. Why is plasma so much cheaper than LED LCD?

Then I recommend a stone-cased model:

Vizio is coming down in price. Got mine at Sam’s. Some Vizio’s don’t have as many bells and whistles, (like no digital camera memory card port)but mine has two HDMI ports, which is enough for me.
Made (or at least assembled) in the USA.

Tell the guy you want one with a scanning disk, a spinning disk with a series of holes spiraling toward the center, for rasterization. I am blonde. Is this a real thing or are you foolin' me? :)

I’m going to narrow to televisions per house (or apartment) or camper. How many in a single residence? Garages / decks count. Multiple locations do not.
Looking for six or more.

Yep - you beat me. But I still claim partial credit for ‘predicting’ your post since I hadn’t seen it when I was writing mine. You are the kind of Freeper I was mocking (and I mean that in a nice way). For extra credit, you need to add something about needing nothing else so long as you have your guns and a bible.
I could do without almost all TV programs - except I like to watch some news and sports (mainly football). And I love having Netflix for movies (no Netflix TV shows).

Hubby and I have been looking at them and the best prices are at Costco (fantastic return policy) and Wall Mart.....
determine the size you want and do side by side comparisons.....they are amazingly thin now...... We have had great luck with our Vizio but found the Samsungs were looking good when we compared them at the store.......
