Not sure what to make of that statement (about the Epic of Gilgamesh). Are you saying that Akkadian cuneiform was in some way divorced from other cuneiform dialects or are you saying that the specific Akkadian dialect of the standard version of Gilgamesh was remarkably different from other Akkadian dialects?
Help me understand what you are saying.
Like you, I find it bizarre and fascinating that the Epic was told from the Giant's POV, but didn't think to consider how strange the Babylonian mathematical system might be since was so d@mn long ago.
Your comment certainly piqued my interest.
Thx for your help.
Please ping me to any replies you get on that topic.
HERE’S SOME LINKS TO SITES AND ARTICLES ON GIANTS AND THEIR SKELETONS . . . AROUND THE WORLD:
A variety of locations discussed here:

A set of 3 huge footprints was discovered near Mulgoa, south of Penrith, N.S.W. These prints, each measuring 2 ft long and 7 inches across the toes, are 6 ft. apart, indicating the stride of the 12 ft. giant who left them. These prints were preserved by volcanic lava and ash flows which “occurred millions of years” before man is supposed to have appeared on the Australian continent (if one is to believe the evolutionary theory): Noel Reeves found monstrous footprints near Kempsey, N.S.W. in sandstone beds on the Upper Macleay River. One print shows toe 4 inches (10cm) long and the total toe-span is 10 inches (25cm) - suggesting that the owner of the print may have been 17 feet tall.

They did use Akkadian to break the codes of the Sumerian language though .
Sumerian was used as a scientific/religious language by the elites but not spoken by the general population.
Maybe nothing but when you add in the fact that their kings claimed to be part human and part alien and their weird math I just thought it was odd.
