Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
2 Timothy 3:14-17 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; and that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Hebrews 4:9-11 There remaineth therefore a REST to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
A note from my Bible on this last portion of Scripture reads...”The word labour here means ‘be diligent’. We do not work to enter into His rest, for that is the very theme of this section, but rather believe with confidence in His Word and His work. This faith will result in good works (Ephesians 2:10) as evidence of the reality of our faith (James 2:18), but it is not the works that save us.”
Again we are instructed to come to Him (Jesus) as little children...they do not work at accepting His love, they just open their arms and embrace it (Him).
God bless
Have more or less done all of those things relentlessly as well as I’ve known how for decades.
Sorry but your scratch is still not reaching the itch.
the Scripture has been the abiding truly truest and only truly true TRUTH most of my life. However, that’s . . . LARGELY an intellectual conviction with a significant amount of FAITH CONFIDENCE inwardly that Scripture is God’s Word and Therefore True.
That doesn’t necessarily have much impact on the heart.
