In offering animals to kids with no access to them, I met a teacher with bad manners and this teacher did not care that he was setting a bad example. Maybe I'm just old school, but I was mortified.

something not worth bothering with such as wearing white shoes after labor day.

I'm shocked I tell you! The whole world will come to an end if people start wearing white after Labor Day! ;-)

this is a weird piece... did the teacher invite the homesteader to the class? doesn’t seem so... to be this offended is silly... look at how Jesus was treated, and He didn’t take offense... and He is the only one who rightfully could have...

Unfortunately, our kids get to sit in front of these kinds of teachers.

parents who care about things such as manners are already teaching them to their children in the home, by example... and those who don't care, well--they won't care what this teacher did...

I thing the author has rather thin skin. If she were as proud of her homestead as she claims, she’d be willing to show it off to the students despite what she perceives as rude behavior on the part of the Ag teacher. But I’m just a little “old-school.”

There might have been much more to the story than what was written.

It was very poorly written and it's hard to comment on what isn't there.

True. In all honesty, I feel bad for jumping all over the teachers. I was one for a while and I tend to be WAY too critical of those in my former profession I fear.

The teacher may have been rude or impolite and he might have been able to handle things better but it is rather hard to tell from this. She is asking him to change his curriculum for an idea she thinks is good. He didn’t entirely reject it either he said he would have to look at her farm.
