Jefferson County District Attorney Scott Storey said, "It is illegal to shoot someone who is stealing your property."

It ain't illegal in Texas, brother.

Amen.

Chased a couple two-legged varmits off my brother’s property north of Dallas a few nights ago. If they’d have turned on me, I’d have made the news. But not been in ANY legal trouble.

I wouldn't roll the dice in Austin or El Paso.

And we don’t care if they’re *illegal* or not.

I say let them go and ship them down here to Houston. I have a trailer on my property and plenty of ammo. I need some practice to re-qualify for my CHL.

It ain't illegal in Texas, brother.

"A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect his property to the degree he reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, theft during the nighttime or criminal mischief during the nighttime, and he reasonably believes that the property cannot be protected by any other means."

While it isn't illegal, there is still some wiggle room where a jury could find it was unreasonable to use deadly force. Far better to just try to scare them off first before shooting at them.
