My husband and I just watched that. We are CRYING! Partly out of laughter, partly because this has become such a crazily positive American story and partly out of sheer amazement over how epic they made that song sound! It’s the Ghetto National Anthem!

There’s something almost lyrical about Antoine’s passionate “outburst.” I think a lot of odes and ballads started in a similar way—just common, ordinary speech set to music and embedded in the national consciousness.
