My point is that I know guys that could swear like a sailor but were honest as day was long, generous, would give you the shirt off your back, pillars in the community and treated kids like me with loving kindness and inspired you with vision to go on and excel in life.

I know little holier-than-thou, blue-haired harpies that never swore a day in their life, but were some of the most cutting, conniving, duplicitious, manipulative evil wenches I have ever met in my life.

God doesn’t like swearing, but he doesn’t like a cutting tongue or conniving manipulation either. Life is often more complicated than it seems.

Sure. I am not saying that people who use off color language are inherently better than people who don't. I am saying that the rule against profanity is a good thing, since the site owner chooses to wink at violations of the rule, I am suggesting that Freepers exercise some self restraint out of respect for others' sensibilities and to keep the conversations out of the gutter.
