    Interesting pics at the article.
Including a 1915 Enfield.

"For those who have been under fire in Helmand, finding that a large fraction of captured rifles are Lee-Enfields or Mosin-Nagants is not surprising. This battalions battlefield collections fit its Marines experiences on patrol.

Hmmmm, I have four Lee-Enfields myself. Not a bad weapon that can be reloaded pretty quickly.

Why don't the Democrats outlaw guns for the Taliban, and solve this problem?

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
 Smiling takes 6.
 Pulling this trigger takes 2.
 I'm lazy.

True. I still wonder how many the N. Koreans still have stashed in their paradise?

Normally, I’d diss them for poor storage conditions and ammo maintenance.
But with the Mosey.. it doesn’t matter.
Those suckers will fire pebbles and prosthetic limbs just fine.

Looks lie a RPG in there also. Where are the stingers and mortars? This is a goat headers collection.

Illiterate peasants need a simpler weapon. The AK47 is about as complicated as the average taliban get, I would guess.

In that terrain, a WWII era rifle is what I’d generally opt for.

Its an indifferently made musket suitable for insurgents. It goes boom real good.
I can make an apple-sized pattern with it, standing off-hand, at 100 yards.
 It cost me $75.00.
